Kabocha Pork Stir Fry

Kabocha Pork Stir Fry

It's the beginning of fall and various pumpkin recipes are starting to appear on websites and magazine. It made me think of sharing this easy and quick Kobocha recipe today. Kabocha is sometimes referred to as Japanese pumpkin or Kabocha squash in the US. It's a very nutritious vegetable with a very sweet flavor, even sweeter than butternut squash and it is rich in beta carotene. I used Korean seasoning called Gochujuang (hot pepper paste) for flavoring this dish.

Bouillabaisse (French Seafood Stew)

Bouillabaisse (French Seafood Stew)

I am definitely addicted to good bread and whenever I have great soup or broth, I love dipping pieces of bread and savoring every last drop of the soup. It's still cold in San Francisco in June this year so I want to share a warm comfort recipe before summer comes along. This bouillabaisse is not difficult to prepare but absolutely delish!

Chicken Cacciatore

Japanese call Chicken Cacciatore "Chicken Tomato Ni (チキンのトマト煮)" and it is actually a pretty common home cooked meal in Japan. My kids love this dish and it's one of our favorite comfort food. I am sure if my recipe follows the authentic Italian method but I hope you enjoy it as much as my family does!

Kitsune Udon きつねうどん

Kitsune Udon きつねうどん

I caught a slight cold over the weekend and wanted some warm comfort food. In Japan, instead of chicken noodle we eat simple kitsune udon to recover our strength. Sipping the natural dashi broth and enjoying the warm udon noodles, I think I already feel better.
