Momofuku Fried Chicken

Momofuku Fried Chicken

As you might have guessed by now, my children loves chicken drumettes and it's true especially for my son. Whenever I make Teba Shio (Japanese Salted Wings) or other Asian styled chicken drumettes for dinner, he always ignores his rice and eats mostly just the drumettes for the meal. This Momofuku drumettes are very simple to prepare and it's extremely tasty. They can be served both as an appetizer or the main course.

Sesame Dressing 胡麻ドレッシング

Sesame Dressing 胡麻ドレッシング

My son loves homemade sesame dressing more than store-bought pre-made ones. I usually experiment with various recipes and this particular one is my husband's favorite because of the strong vinegar taste. If you prefer really fine and smooth taste, ground the sesame finer. Otherwise it's fine to leave the grounded sesame a bit coarse, it adds a new texture and dimension to the salad.

Miso Cod (Black Cod with Miso) 西京焼き

Miso Cod (Black Cod with Miso) 西京焼き

My children loves fish. Lately our family tradition is going to the Japanese market together on a Saturday afternoon and picking out the sashimi we'll enjoy together for dinner that night. They love everything, and I do mean everything, tuna, yellowtail, sea bream, halibut, scallop, and amberjack. Among the cooked fish recipes, saikyo yaki style is their favorite. The sweet miso flavor combined with buttery flesh, it's almost like miso butter that melts in your mouth.
