Chirashi Sushi Mix (ちらし寿司の素) is a commercial mix for chirashi sushi or scattered sushi, a deconstructed loaded sushi rice dish. Chirashi sushi is eaten on special occasions and Girls’ Day/Hinamatsuri (March 3rd).

What Is Chirashi Sushi Mix
While you can prepare sushi rice from scratch for chirashi sushi, you can also rely on commercial mixes for instant chirashi sushi. The vinegar mixture usually contains carrots, shiitake mushrooms, bamboo shoots, kampyo gourd strips, and lotus root.

How To Use
Combine the mix with cooked rice. The mix contains a variety of seasoned vegetables, and you can make the dish more elaborate by topping it with sashimi, fish roe, cooked seafood, shredded egg omelet or tamagoyaki, sakura denbu, aburaage fried tofu, vegetables, and herbs such as chopped cucumbers, snap peas, avocado, and shiso.
