My favorite Japanese dessert is Warabi Mochi with Kinako – I would love to see your version of it! I have found warabi mochiko in the local Japanese grocery store, but if you have an alternate way to make it, that would be wonderful to learn. This is a dessert I find most Americans, even with some knowledge of Japanese cuisine, do not know about. Breaks my heart!

My mom and I love your recipes! I’d love to see more reviews of Bay Area restaurants since I live in SF and also meals for one. One thing I love about cooking videos in Japan is that they often feature having to cook with just a toaster oven or one small burner. It would be great to see more recipes and videos of meals made for just one or two people using limited space and appliances. Thanks!

Hi Nami, I’m glad you got to enjoy the warm weather with a day on the beach with the kids. I’m in Singapore with friends today after a few days in KL and we got to enjoy our days in the sun, but had to seek shelter in the afternoons because of the rains. But over all, having a good trip with my friends from work! Enjoy the rest of your summer! XOXO

Sounded from your newsletter that you have spent the time with your children and family very splendidly over the Summer. I’m glad to hear all that! I’m really hoping that I get the chance to view a number of sights that are near and easily accessible from Osaka sometime – there is a potential chance that I may go there next year because of future work I’m hoping to do there (fingers crossed 😉 ).
I’m already excited to read and hear about what you will post over the next few months, especially the coming recipes that you have planned 🙂 I’m hoping that it will include a Doria that uses the Bechamel Sauce that you mentioned once to my feedback to your Meat Doria. I still have to try a number of other recipes from you, especially the seafood, which I will try out when I’m home in mid-September again after a bit of proper holiday. (I’m visiting my two nieces for their very first birthday in Denmark – I have for each a teddy bear 🙂 – and then I’m enjoying Berlin.)
Thank you Nami for all your doing through your website. Always looking forward hearing from you!
Staci
Just saying “hi!”

Hi Nami,
Thank you for bring these lovely posts to us. I have always love all things Japanese and the Japanese people. Admire their work ethic and determination. Since my effort in learning Japanese has not been very successful, I am a bit intimidated about visit other parts of Japan other than those major cities. Your blog is a wonderful way to introduce this beautiful country to the rest of us. And a big thank you for working so hard on these lovely recipes.
My hope is to visit Japan again this coming spring. Still trying to catch the cherry blossoms. Best regards, Alvita Simpson

I really love the variety of Japanese recipes that you have on your blog and that it covers all meals. Absolutely adore the fact not only have you categorized them into types of dishes/courses/mains, you also have them split by cooking methods and timing. Makes finding recipes a breeze and the site so accessible. I also love the travel info you have on here.
Japan is synonym for cutesy (kawaii!) stuff and whacky inventions, I would love to read more of that on what you find on your travels. Even what you can buy from Japanese vending machines are so unique! Japan is also heavy on tradition and would love to know more from your personal experience.
Lilly
