Donate to charities for Kumamoto and Ecuador Earthquake Victims with Just One Cookbook ebook purchase.
UPDATE (5/2/16): Thank you so much for purchasing my e-book! We sold 261 e-books in April!!! We have donated to $1,090 (50% of April profit) to Kumamoto Japan Earthquake Relief Fund and $1,090 (50% of April profit) to Ecuador Earthquake Relief Fund. We did this together! Thank you for your generosity and kindness! (Please note Paypal took transaction fee.)
Today I’m taking a brief break from posting a recipe and wanted to reach out to you personally. I think we can do a good cause together to help out people who require help due to the devastating natural disasters.

As many of you are aware, the death toll from the 7.8-magnitude quake that shook Ecuador on Saturday rose to more than 400 and it left an estimated 3,000 to 5,000 homeless.
In Japan, a 6.4-magnitude quake on Thursday resulted in nine deaths, while a subsequent 7.1-magnitude earthquake that hit early Saturday left at least 30 dead and more than 1,000 more injured.

I’ve already donated personally (not on behalf of JOC) to the following charities to help both countries; however, I thought I could reach out to you and we could help more people together.
So I have decided to donate 100% of profit I make from selling my e-book in April to 2 charities: Kumamoto Japan Earthquake Relief Fund (50%) and Ecuador Earthquake Relief Fund (50%).
I already donated 100% of March e-book profit to Kumamoto Japan Earthquake Relief Fund.

Hi Nami,
I want to buy your e-book for my daughter.
How can I pay for it and allow her to download on Her iPad.
One of my favourite Japanese restaurants here in Toronto has a wonderful Butter Hotate dish which is deep fried in a light butter batter.
Is this something that you would be able to work on sometime in the future?
Best regards, and thank you so much for your fantastic blogs.
Ken Cameron
Hi Ken! The person who’s paying (with the email you’re using) will get the download link. You can forward the link to your daughter, or you can download and send the pdf file to her. Please let me know if you or your daughter has any trouble downloading. I’ll be happy to assist you. 🙂
Hmm each restaurant has their way of cooking it, and I have to taste the dish you are talking about… I have a scallop recipe but it’s probably a bit different from what you like:

Similar seasoning with butter.

Hi Ivy! Thank you so much for your support! I hope you enjoy my ebook. 🙂 xo
I’d been meaning to buy your cookbook and had completely forgotten! I just opened it and it’s beautiful I can’t wait to read it. Doubly pleased to help a good cause!
Hi Christina! Thank you so much for your support. I’m happy to hear you liked it! I hope you enjoy cooking from my eBook. 🙂
I’m really glad I read my email today. It pulled my heart strings. The way you care for other people inspires me, you are a truly amazing woman. I bought and read your e-book. Your mother planted a meaningful seed and you sprouted into a wonderful chef and mother. She may not have given you a recipe book, but she gave you the skills to create tasty dishes from scratch. You have a taste for good flavor. Even after following your blog for so long, you still continue to surprise me all the time. I can’t wait to try these delicious recipes. Thank you, Nami. =}
Hi Nicole! Thank you so much for purchasing my e-book! I’m actually quite surprised that many people are helping and buying my ebook. I’m glad I wrote this post (and glad you read too!).
Aww, you’re too kind. My mom wanted to make sure that I know how to cook. After years of helping her in the kitchen, it’s interesting that I learned a lot of things from her. Especially small things that’s not in cookbooks etc. She’s been supportive of what I do, but she always reminds me that kids are priority now and I shouldn’t be blogging. LOL. Oh well.
Thank you again for purchasing my ebook!
Thanks Nami! .. For a Good Cause .. God Bless you and your family! ^_^
Thank you so much for your support, Cheria!
Just purchased the book.
Russian officers are still helping a lot in Fukushima since 2011, but unfortunately Japanese media don’t tell about it..
Please, be aware that Russians do care…
Hi Albert! Thank you so much for purchasing my e-Book. I’ve been overwhelmed by many awesome JOC readers like you who purchased my ebook from this post! Thank you!
And it is sad to hear that Japanese media don’t talk about it. In fact, my mother often complains that media doesn’t cover anything about Fukushima at all… It worries me.
Good for you. We completely support your initiative!
Thank you so much for your support, Heather! 🙂
Hi Nami, I bought your e-book today for the good cause you have started! I do have a question for you, too: is your book available for my kindle? Thank you! Dawn
Hi Dawn! Thank you so much for purchasing my e-Book!
The ebook and Kindle versions are different. We have to remove a lot of feature (graphics and images) from the pdf (for e-book) to support Kindle version (so it’s not as pretty as e-book).

Morning, Name, Ah, I see… thank you as always for your quick response. I see Ecuador continues to have problems with yet another quake. I am so sad and scared as I have close friends who live there. So far they are safe and well, and while they didn’t have the devastation of others especially in Quito, they felt the effect of it while it occurred. I am happy to help the little I can. Dawn
