IHAMARO Dandelion Lunch Bag Giveaway (Worldwide) (Closed)

  • IHAMARO GIVEAWAY at Just One Cookbook.com

Today I’m giving away a super cute Dandelion Lunch Bag (in Midnight Blue) designed and handmade by IHAMARO!

Recently I received a really cute pouch from IHAMARO.  Isn’t it so cute??

    Ihamaro Nami

I love the adorable laurel design and the midnight blue happens to be one of my favorite colors!  I put my makeup stuff in this little pouch and carry it around in my handbag.

IHAMARO – A Piece of Indonesia

Ihamaro was born last April out of their love of bags, pouches and everything that can falls into that category.

Two sisters behind IHAMARO live and run the brand from two different countries, Yosi in Singapore & Irma in Jakarta, Indonesia. Their other sister, Ria, lives in Brunei and helps spread the love from her end of the universe.

The idea for the name IHAMARO came from their mom as she suggested to use their family name.  Why?  It’s because they are the only family that they know of in the entire Indonesia who carries that surname. However, to make it less “obvious” and more “fun”, she suggested to flip the letters from back to front and that’s how the brand name IHAMARO was born.

Although the sisters spent their childhood in England and still consider London their second home, they all have deep appreciation and loyal love for Indonesia and all the amazing things the wonderful country has to offer.  It is the reason Yosi  and Irma decided to use the batik stamping method for all their base fabric.  It is their mission to infuse their roots, culture and traditional values in all of their bespoke items and hope the world has fun carrying a piece of Indonesia with them.

Their prints are usually inspired by their childhood and daily lives.  The dandelion is one of their favorite flowers growing up in England and the laurel/bay leaf is a constant ingredient in their mom’s cooking.

The weave was inspired by the art of cloth weaving which is a tradition from their father’s side of the family.

The motifs are hand drawn (either by Yosi or Irma) in their inception stage and then made into brass stamps.  The stamp is dipped in to melted batik wax and hand printed onto the base cloths before it gets color-dyed.

The process is followed by boiling the fabric to lock the color and at the same time melt the wax leaving the blocked sections in the original color of the base cloth, showing the motif.

The last step is to have the fabric washed and hung to dry and this whole process can take up to 2 weeks depending on weather conditions!

Their craftsmanship is very nice (as you see in the photos) and I get lots of compliment from my friends when they see my makeup pouch.  I love to support small businesses so I invited IHAMARO to my blog to share their story, and they are sponsoring a cute lunch bag to giveaway to one (1) Just One Cookbook reader!
