After working hard for the past several months, I’m extremely happy to announce that my first eBook, Just One Cookbook – Essential Japanese Recipes is here!
After all, Just One Cookbook is no longer one cookbook! 🙂
During the past 3 years of blogging, I’ve received many interests and inquiries for my cookbook from JOC readers. My reply has always been, “No, I do not have published cookbooks, just the blog to keep all the recipes I love.”
However, with the increasing requests for a cookbook, you’ve convinced me! I realized many of my readers are interested in cooking Japanese food, but when you come to my site it’s not very clear where to start.
So I’ve selected 33 easy and simple recipes that my family, JOC readers, and I love most from Just One Cookbook.
Just One Cookbook Essential Japanese Recipes (e-Book)
This cookbook has over 90 pages of recipes and instructions for appetizers, side dishes, main dishes, rice & noodles, and dessert, which include 12 pages of Japanese cooking basics and pantry items.
Here are a few snapshots from the book:

I paid for your cook book, but I do not know where to download the PDF file.
My wife, Mitsue of 57 years of marriage died 4 years ago but I have two daughters
that come around I hoped to have the book for reference for them to cook from.
Hi Billy! I apologize for my late response – I’ve been traveling and haven’t been checking my email regularly.
I am so sorry for your loss. 🙁 Hope I can be any help to revive Misue-san’s recipes in your family.
I’ll email you shortly.
I have paid for my e book on PayPal and the download did not work. Can you send me a link so I can receive the download? I did pay the 9$ and do not have it!
Hi Diane! Thank you for purchasing my ebook and I’m sorry for the inconvenience. The download link email is sent automatically once payment is made. I heard from my readers that they find in spam folder/junk mail. Could you please check the folder (it’s same email address as this email)? I have just re-sent the download link manually. Please let me know if you still don’t get the email. I’ll find another way to help you. 🙂
Hi! I was wondering, would it be possible to buy the book in kindle ebook format? I found it on Amazon but I would prefer to buy it from you directly since you give the money to charity. Would it be possible to just request kindle format or something? I drag my kindle with me everywhere so I prefer to keep my recipes on it. (My family loved the soy sauce tsukemono! We tried it tonight. Adding the soy sauce makes a big difference. I haven’t seen it in most recipes for tsukemono.)
Hi Michele! You can purchase the e-book from my site and open up the pdf in your kindle. I think that will work. Please let me know if you encounter any issue – I’ll be happy to help. Thank you for your interest in purchasing my ebook. And so happy you liked the tsukemono recipe. 🙂
With my PC, Adobe Acrobat Reader cannot be updated. Is it very difficult for you to make you next cookbook available also as an i-Book (Mac)?
Hi Christina! Yes, you can read my eBook on your mac (iphone, iPad), just download to your device in iBooks. Open the pdf in Safari browser, and choose to use app to view my eBook. It’s 20 mbs so it takes time to transfer. Hope that helps!
Hi I ordered my copy of your book and paid by PayPal can you please send me the PDF by email …
Hi Nickie! Thank you so much for purchasing my eBook! It’s very heavy, so I can’t send it through email. I can try sending different method, but you have to download it by yourself. Just give me a few minutes to send over…
I’m buying the cookbook because I have accessed your website for the past year and having lived in Tokyo for three years once upon a time, have found your recipes to be the closest thing to what I enjoyed while living there! Love your recipes and your instructions! Thank you! I wanted to buy your book to support you!
Hi Marla! Thank you SO MUCH for your kind words and support. This month I’m donating 100% of my proceeds to Samaritan’s Purse Hurricane Harvey Relief. I really appreciate your kind gesture and I hope you enjoy the ebook. 🙂 I hope you had wonderful 3 years living in Tokyo!

Congrats on the eBook! I’ve made a few recipes from your blog and haven’t hit a dud yet, at least not one that wasn’t my own doing.
My only complaint, and this is just personal preference, is that it’s not a physical book. T_T
Thank you so much for your kind words and for trying out my recipes! I know, many people requested a physical book. Maybe one day when I have a right opportunity… 🙂
