Today I’m partnering with Tuttle Publishing to give away one (1) copy of A Geek In Japan by Hector Garcia! This giveaway contest is open to everyone worldwide.
For every fan of manga, anime, J-pop, or Zen, A Geek in Japan is a hip, smart and concise guide to the land that is their source.
Comprehensive and well informed, it covers a wide array of topics in short articles accompanied by sidebars and numerous photographs, providing a lively digest of the society and culture of Japan. Designed to appeal to the generations of Westerners who grew up on Pokemon, manga and video games, A Geek in Japan reinvents the culture guide for readers in the Internet age.

Mostly comic books and art books.
I love manga! Tsubasa: reservoir chronicle is my all time favorite. Such a beautiful love story. Japanese cookbooks also amaze me, I can spend hours just looking at all the good food and artful details in Japanese cooking.
Cookbooks, architecture, art and crafts, gardening and fashion!

My favourite types of Japanese books are Japanese language, cooking, manga, art, architecture and guide books – anything to do with Japan, basically! I’m fascinated by the culture and anytime I meet someone who has visited or knows a little something about Japan, I make them tell me everything so I can live vicariously through their own experiences! One day, I hope to visit but it’s so daunting knowing where to go, what to see, what to do….there’s just so much! This book would be a great aid in deciding where to start. Thanks!
