Wow…you can write in japanese…but I agree to like add more article about japanese language and its writting system because i actually have wonder it in a really long time like why there is chineese character in the japanese word, is it the same to read it in japanese as in chinese? And how to call someone in japan as there are too many calling system in japan ( I realize it when I see anime)..

I am currently subscribed (as per this msg). As a former U.S Expat in Japan. your recipes are WONDERFUL. Since I was working full time, MANY dishes were missed!
Yes I read the travel posts, especially as my youngest daughter has lived in Japan for 7 years so we visit every year. She has lived in Osaka, Shingu and now Tokyo. You food posts emphasise to me how different japanese food tastes are. We love the cheap rice bowl restaurants in Japan, CoCo Curry, and especially the ramen restaurants. Europeans struggle with the sweet bean paste items, the fact that almost everything tastes of dashi, and for me especially tofu. My daughter did do a highly spiced fried tofu dish the last time we visited and we were OK with that but usually I find the texture of tofu repellent. So more chicken, ramen, tonkatsu etc recipes for me!
wow..i guess your daughter is studying in Japan then…many of my friends also study there especially the ones that love anime, and japanese culture…maybe they are friends actually… hahaha..
And you said Coco Curry is cheap..actually in my country, indonesia, it can be categorize as expensive.. but maybe it’s just because of the differences in each country then… like the price of ingredient itself, etc.

I’m subscribed to your newsletter, and I do enjoy your travel content. When I travelled to Japan two years ago your blog was the reason I travelled to both Takayama and Kanazawa. I personally like the blogs where you go to more “obscure” places rather than London/Tokyo, but the variety of places is also a good thing!
