I found you like 2 years ago, when I was googling new japanese recipes. So glad that it happened!
After several trips to Japan and living in Fukuoka for a couple of years I returned to Australia. I desperately missed the food (among many other things) so googled ‘authentic Japanese recipes ‘ and hit the jackpot with JOCB! People always comment on my fancy bento boxes and amazing Japanese cooking skills so I have to share my secret with everyone about just how easy it really is with just one cookbook in mind! Thank you Nami you are my inspiration to say the least xx
I think I searched for a curry recipe or maybe it was a recipe that had matcha in it. I can’t really remember. I just remember there weren’t a whole lot of recipes on the site. The ones I tried since then I do use time and time again. Wish there were more curry recipes though. Like sweet, spicy, you know, variants.
I always love japanese food and one day i found you =)….i have tried your teriyaki sauce and everyone loved it….amazing blog really love it 😉
Can I just say random synchronicity on the internet somehow? I can’t seem to put my finger on it, but I can say I’m so glad I did. Love your posts!
I volunteered to make dinner for a sick friend and her family, and wanted to make something from the country I love that won’t be too much of a culture shock but still very delicious. Your website was the first to pop up in my Google search!
The day after I made the dinner for my friend, she told me everyone loved it! I made Gyudon
Hello Nami,
my daughter Clara and I travelled recently to Kyoto and had a four-night-stay at the wonderful “Piece Hostel Sanjo”. In it´s common space there were two big screens on wich your videos from “justonecookbook” were shown all day long…;-) We loved to watch them while eating, having coffee or cleaning our dishes and found them very inspiring. When back home in Germany the first thing to do (really!) was to subscribe to your newsletter. It helps against Japan-homesickness….Thank you for sharing your recipes with us! Sincerely yours
Bettina

Found your site ‘justonecookbook thourgh the recommendation of the Marketing manager at Nomiku.
I like your recipes. I don’t like it when ethnic recipes are tone d down for perceived American tastes. I do appreciate recognizing not all ingredients are available here.
