What makes a Japanese meal tastes even better? When you enjoy it with a pair of nice Japanese chopsticks of course! 😉
I’m giving away TWO (2) sets of beautiful and elegant Japanese chopsticks (His & Hers in a box) which I bought from a chopstick store in Asakusa, Tokyo (read my travel post). What they look like? Well, they’ll be a surprise as the store has nicely packed and wrapped the pairs of chopsticks in a box before I was able to take a picture… Hope the winners will enjoy these beautiful chopsticks!
To enter for your chance to win a set of chopsticks (His and Hers), leave a comment on this post that answers the following question:
If you have been to Japan, which city did you enjoy the most? If you haven’t been to Japan, where do you want to visit first?

I have never been to Japan, fingers crossed my family will go in 2016. I would love to visit Tokyo ! I love your blog & your recipes.
Hokkaido comes first on my to-visit list. Not only is it the home of Hokkaido milk (over-hyped? Not at all!), but it also boasts breathtaking landscapes and powdery, pillow-like snow. I’m already saving up for the trip!
Of the few places I want to visit during my lifetime is Japan. This blog is really special in that it is certainly a treasure because it is Japan from a real Japanese. I love it. Thanks so much for sharing , this is truly a gift. Nami you are the best.

My favourite city is definitely Kyoto. It’s not as ridiculously big as Tokyo but in return feels much closer to ‘old’ Japan. There are blocks just a few hundred meters from the main Kyoto station where you can walk through cosy alleys with small houses with a traditional look, and can reach so many amazing temples with just a short bus ride (or even walking if you feel up for it), like kiyomizudera and kinkakuji. Not to mention one of my favourite places in all of Japan, fushimi inari. I’ve probably walked under the torii gates in the mountains there half a dozen times, and it’s just a few stops from Kyoto central if you take the rail.
Kyoto is really the place to be if you want to experience a beautiful traditional city with plenty of culture intact as opposed to a metropolitan with skyscrapers like Tokyo (which is nice in its own way, of course, but you’ll have to look or go a bit outside the city to find the nice places that are right in front of you in Kyoto). I recommend finding a nice ryokan in an old block near the station where they also serve a traditional Japanese breakfast and going from there.
I’d love to visit Kyoto someday.
