Taiyaki (鯛焼き) is a traditional Japanese fish-shape cake filled with red bean paste.
The Taiyaki shops use big cast iron pans like these to make many taiyaki at the same time.
For home use, we use a mini taiyaki maker like this below. And today I’m giving away a Taiyaki Makers to three (3) readers around the world!
To enter for your chance to win one of Taiyaki Japanese Fish-Shape Hot Cake Makers, leave a comment on this post that answers the following question:
What kind of filling would you like to put inside taiyaki? For example, red bean paste, custard, Nutella, etc…

When I lived in Tokyo, I used to see taiyaki stands everywhere. Such a delicious, cozy treat, especially during the wintertime when they doubled as hand warmers! 🙂
