I’m partnering with Nihon Ichiban to give away 3 sets of the following items:
1 pack of bamboo barks1 pack of bamboo leavesWorldwide free shipping by registered mail (import duties to be covered by the winner) when you shop at Nihon Ichiban
Japanese food is often presented on top of bamboo leaves. They are often used in restaurants, but now you can do the same at home!
Rice balls used to be wrapped with a bamboo bark in old days when there was no “bento box”. Bamboo barks have anti bacterial effect and they are breathable. Soak the bamboo barks in water before use. Enjoy the rice balls in style! 😉

Thank you for participating this giveaway! The winners are…
Congratulations Carol (#72), Rebecca (#9), and Genus (#88)! I’ll email you shortly…. 🙂
First of all thanks for the chance!
I would like Nihon Ichiban to have Matha Tea because I can t find it where I live.
I’m almost embarrassed to say, but I’d love more dagashi. (;<_<)
Thank you Nami, I like your site very much.
Hmm, something I need from Japan. Well, when it comes to food products, the list is nearly endless~!
If I were to say just one thing though.. I really want pickled plum rice seasoning. My local Asian supermarket is small and has a few rice seasonings, but no umeboshi T-T
If not that, maybe something Sakura that could be used in cooking and baking~
These look super useful in serving onigiri and dango!
Ahh, or real umeboshi lol.
I think I had a typo in my email the first message, not sure though ;;
After a quick look at the Ichiban web site I think their variety of offerings is amazing. I especially love the laquerware bowls.
Something from Japan I would love is the edible Sakura Cherry Blossoms. I’ve seen a couple of your recipes which use it, and I’m intrigued!
Thanks for hosting this giveaway!
i would love an easy to order list of Japanese spices..
I am so happy to have found the justonecookbook website!
Would love to see them carry washi paper, mizuhiki cords, and yuzen paper. They are great for gift wrapping and card making.
Also I am making tenmusu right now!
Thanks for all these wonderful japanese recipes.
What I would need from Japan are some utensils to make sushi and to make other Japanese recipes that I follow on ‘just one cook book and ‘ Nami’ on YouTube :)))
I was so excited that they sold Alcohol until I read the no shipping to USA. I always found brewing tradition to be so majestic like, and by that I mean the dedication and care they place unto a product. It almost makes you want to take a sip because of all the hard work they put into it, to make this product. They have a little of everything I couldn’t thing of anything lacking, plus prices are great. 🙂
I hope im able to buy wooden bento box on their website
It’s so awesome that you are doing another giveaway! As for the product I would like to see from Nihon Ichiban, I am not sure. Maybe some home items in the Sakura section..like candles or decor!
THanks for all the wonderful and tasty recipes!
This looks so delicious. Thank you for posting such wonderful recipes.
I really would love maybe if Nihon Ichiban would have the Japanese rice to order, maybe partner with they Kyoto Rice Packages, “Kyoto Koshihikari rice”. I believe this would pair great with your recipe and the Ume and Sakura that you can find on Nihon Ichiban’s website.
Because those packaged rice can be microwaved & are essentially ready to eat, it would make it easy and quick to may different Onigiri. Perfect for those in a rush in the mornings. But I guess that is Just me, I want to have the full taste of Japan and if I am entertaining others to help them to love Japanese food like me I want to serve them food that screams Japan and in Japanese style. Which is why I would love to have these too!
