I have always wanted to go to Japan and have been cooking Japanese food since I was in HS and studied it some in culinary school. I don’t have a specific gift in mind but I would absolutely love some sort of Japanese cookware like a cast iron nabe pot. I love cooking stews, soups, etc. For myself and my family of 6 🙂 I have a rare stomach disease called Gastroparesis and I have difficulty eating most foods these days but I am able to do a lot of one pot meals. They always put a smile on everyone’s faces! I am too sick to travel to Japan right now but some day I will make it there! 🙂
I shop at the Nijiya Market in SF, CA, Ranch 99 in Pleasant Hill, CA on Willow Pass Rd., And Diablo Oriental in Walnut Creek, CA <3
My local supermarkets (Big Y and Stop & Shop) have been improving their Japanese ingredient aisles a lot lately! I’m thrilled with the selection and I hope it continues to grow! (Greenfield, MA)
